Today I woke up and went for my regular morning run and notices something great about the neighborhood. Kids raking up leaves with their dad, I'm sure to be jumped into later, couples all bundled up taking their dogs for walks, the smell of BBQ turkeys wafting into the street. It was so nice to see people being out being active and enjoying the holiday as it should be enjoyed. Thanksgiving really is the start of what I like to call "the family season." The time of the year when the family becomes the main focus of shopping, cooking, entertaining, and traveling. I love it! And thanksgiving is my favorite.
After my run I walked into my house to find my dad stuffing the turkey, my sister mashing yokes for the deviled eggs and a broken mixer. That's right, it wouldn't be thanksgiving without some challenge to overcome. Luckily, my older sister doesn't live too far and ran over and got hers. Meanwhile, my niece is playing in the living room and my nephew is running around outside. Never a dull moment in the Brady house, but that's what it's all about. Enjoying the little moments together as a family.

I love that all of us help with the preparation of the meal. We each have a dish we're in charge of which really makes it that much more fun. Here goes my sister licking the devil egg filling bowl. Oh those little moments that turn into memories and the jokes at future family functions.
